Exploring a Whole New World at Disneyland Paris

Together with their peers from Harrogate Grammar School, our Year 12 Business Studies students thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Disneyland Paris earlier this week. They explored the creative magic behind the park and even found time to meet some of their Disney favourites...our headteacher, Mr Milburn, clearly had the force on his side!!

Mr Milburn was very proud of our students who were great Rossett ambassadors, as always.  We are very grateful to HGS for their help and support with organising the trip, it was brilliant to get together with them for such a memorable few days away.

Japanese Exchange Program

We are thrilled to announce the continuation of our longstanding Japanese exchange program, a partnership that has been fostering cultural connections between the UK and Japan for over 30 years. The exchange is open to all students in Years 7 to 10.

This year, we will welcome Ishigami High School students to Rossett School in November 2025, and in February 2026, it will be our turn to visit Japan. This extraordinary opportunity offers students the chance to experience Japanese culture, traditions, and daily life first hand.

We are now starting to plan the trip to Japan. If your child is interested, there will be letters available in student reception from Monday 20th January.

***Fun fact: Our very own Mr Milburn participated in one of the first Japanese exchanges back in the 1990s!***

What You Need to Know About TikTok

TikTok boasts approximately 220 million users, providing a near-endless reel of short clips intended to entertain, educate and more. However, along with its enormous userbase comes a significant number of possible risks: Ofcom have dubbed it the most likely app on which teen users would potentially suffer harm.

Year 7 Panto Trip

Our Year 7 students were absolutely brilliant on their trip to the pantomime today. They behaved exceptionally well, making it a wonderful treat to end the week. The students walked to and from Harrogate Theatre sensibly and watched the panto with great enthusiasm.

A big thank you to the students for their fantastic attitude and to our staff for making the trip possible!

Careers Bulletin

This week the careers bulletin focuses on work experience. It is never too early for students to start thinking about how they can get experiences of the workplace, and the careers bulletin contains some useful ideas.

For students in Years 10 and 12, there are some steps outlined on page 3 of the bulletin that they need to take to start the process of looking for a placement for July.
