Rossett News Update - 4 April 2025
End of Term Message from Mr Milburn
End of Term Celebration Assembly
As we wrapped up the term, we came together for our Celebration Assembly this morning to recognise the hard work and outstanding character of our students.
We were delighted to award over 70 students a Bronze award - these students have each earned over 1000 positive points on Class Charts, demonstrating consistent effort, positive behaviour and a strong contribution to our school community.
We also celebrated over 50 students who have truly embodied our school values, being Respectful, Reflective, Responsible, Ready and Resilient. These values are at the heart of everything we do and it is amazing to see so many students being recognised for their commitment to them.
In addition, the following students also received a Headteacher's Award:
- Ava R - Year 7
- Sophia H and Nichita G - Year 8
- Charlie H and Arina O - Year 9
- Milly H - Year 10
- Ava B - Year 11
What a week! Well done to all of our award recipients, you are a credit to our school!
Congratulations Imogen
We're very proud to share that one of our amazing students, Imogen in Year 10, has had her poem Blades of Silence published in a national poetry book addressing county lines exploitation and knife crime.
Imogen was inspired by author Christina Gabbitas' visit to Rossett in October 2023 where she delivered sessions to all our students using her story, Trapped in County Lines. Imogen's poem sparked a national writing initiative after it was sent to North Yorkshire Police, who shared it with Christina. The result was a hugely successful competition, and Imogen's poem was selected as one of the top 40 to be featured in the published collection, Listen Up.
Well done Imogen!
Celebrating Our Dedicated Staff
This week we were also very proud to recognise and celebrate the incredible dedication of many of our staff members who have reached significant milestones in their years of service at Rossett.
Their commitment and hard work have made a lasting impact on our students and school community, and we are very grateful for their efforts.
Summer Uniform Changes
As we approach the warmer months, we want to ensure our students stay comfortable while continuing to learn effectively. To provide clarity from the start of next term, the following uniform options will be available:
- Plain white shirt with school tie - shirts must be tucked in with the top button fastened.
- Plain white polo shirt - no logos or markings. These can be purchased easily from the high street in multi-packs.
- Rossett blazer or black Rossett sweatshirt - please note, this does not include the PE hoodie which should only be worn for PE.
Students should not wear outdoor coats / jackets / hoodies inside the school building. If they are cold, they should wear either the blazer or the Rossett sweatshirt as part of their uniform.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain high standards.
